I couldn't resist another weekend post!! Yesterday, we froze with horror as the Green Bay game opened with not one, but TWO Ryan Grant fumbles on our first two drives. Both led to Seahawks touchdowns. There was a collective groan heard all over WI!! Was it going to be one of those kind of days? Ugh.
However, the team held it together. They didn't panic. Grant played the rest of the game as if his life depended on it, and rushed for over 200 yards, 3 touchdowns. The Pack ended up killing them in what was the snowiest game I ever saw! Collective sigh of relief and WI settled in for the rest of the weekend to watch what else went down.
We watched the Patriots predictably beat the Jaguars, although it was closer than I expected. The Jaguars did a nice job. They just couldn't quite get it done. THEN, the Chargers beat the Colts. That was not supposed to happen! We actually weren't sure who to root for there, I like Tony Dungy yet the Chargers are overdue for good things. We finally decided we should root for the Colts thinking that they have a better chance at the Patriots. But they LOST. Big upset! I wondered if Eli Manning knew that his brother had lost as he headed out to play Dallas directly after.
Then with our jaws hanging open we watched Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys fall apart and lose to the Giants. Unbelievable. It's been a half an hour, and I still can't believe it. Boy is Romo ever in the doghouse! They had at least three chances to drive too at the end....they were only 4 points back. But they couldn't do it. He was rattled!! Young, inexperienced....and rattled.
THIS means that the Packers get the NFC championship AT Lambeau field against the Giants, and they should certainly win!!!! The Giants have some good momentum right now, but SO DO WE! We played superbly in terrible conditions on Saturday (except the two fumbles early). The Pack is looking so good that the FOX guys even were discussing that they may be the top NFC team now and this was BEFORE Dallas lost.
Anyway.....WI cheeseheads are dreaming big dreams tonight.
