John, this is your fault. You said you were surprised I wasn't talking about the Packers more.
OK, so a few nights ago on the Mike McCarthy show (the show that is on after the local news and debriefs the coach each Monday) they had Al Harris on along with Coach McCarthy. I guess Harris had responded surprisingly positive to a situation on the field during the game on Sunday. I'm not sure what the scenario was, but the host said that he'd been wanting to know WHY Harris had responded that way. And Harris said that he could tell him why, and went on to say how his belief in the Bible and Jesus Christ has changed how he lives his life, how we are to serve others and how his life is based on Biblical principles now. He gestured towards the coach and said something like, "That's why we're all here....to serve one another like Jesus did". I guess the host didn't quite know what to do with all that. I didn't see it, I tuned in too late and only caught the end. But, I guess it was an extremely strong testimony by Al Harris and the indicators were that there are quite a few other strong Christians on the team, including maybe the coach. We already knew that Donald Driver is. We know now that Deanna Favre (Brett's wife) is as well. And the guy with the long, funny middle eastern name that we can't ever say or remember. I know that the late Reggie White tried hard to impact the team for Christ when he was there. Cool, huh? There's been alot of talk about the great atmostphere and team unity that the Packers have this year.....how they all really get along, how patient Brett and Coach have been with the young guys.....Koren Robinson has gone on and on about how supportive and helpful they've been in encouraging him to live clean after his substance abuse problems.
Just one more reason why God is rooting for the Packers.

Or maybe I'm just trying to spiritualize all this crazy, football blogging.
OK, I'm going to put the kids to bed now. We are reading "Little Pilgrim's Progress" and it is so fun! What a great way to talk through spiritual things. The chapters are short and easy to read. The kids are very into it, and want more each night. We have enjoyed looking up definitions to words like "Pliable, Obstinate and Worldly". Tonight, little Christian will reach the Wicket Gate. So.....I'm off!
