Speaking of stress....

  • Mood:

I imagined early on this week that there may have been a conversation in the spiritual dimension similar to the one in Job....I could hear Satan saying "Sure, she's glorifying you now...but wait til SHE gets sick!"    Sunday night...around 1am, the bug got me.  I woke with a raging fever and feeling like every cell in my body hurt!  Not good.  It was a miserable few days.  I was barely good for anything on Monday.  Tuesday and Wednesday I was functional as long as I was on ibuprofen.  As soon as it would wear off....the fever went up and I was back on the couch.  David and Anna were still not quite better either, both fighting bad, sinus headaches.  By Thursday, I was feeling mostly normal and had my energy back.

Somehow we still managed to get mostly a full week of schoolwork in.  Not exactly on schedule, but the work got done.  I was relieved about that, although it was so hard to lay on the couch and watch my house fall apart.  It seemed like the kitchen got messier everytime I got out of bed and came down.  I am behind again now on laundry and about everything else.  But hopefully, we'll catch up again this week.  We had a very busy weekend, which didn't help.  We were gone all day Saturday in Whitehall...a few hours away.  We went to see the farm that our friends are looking at for their ministry (BEAUTIFUL!).  It was good for the kids to see where their best buddies are planning to relocate.  Then, we had a wedding there in town.  So it was an all day event.  Thankfully, Leah fell asleep on me during the wedding and so she didn't completely forgo her nap.

Sunday is always busy, Sunday school in the morning, church and then in the afternoon we had the annual Fall Festival at HHF.  It was a great time, but no time for catching up at home and organizing for the week!

I have to make a little side statement here....the Packers are 2-0!!!!  How fun that has been for us after several seasons of bad starts.  Their defense is really strong this year and of course Brett Favre is back for yet another season and is on the verge of breaking all the quarterback records.  The only one left is Dan Marino's career TD pass record...Brett will break it with 3 more.  He broke John Elways career wins yesterday.  Go, Brett!  The sports writers keep talking about how Green Bay has only an "average" offense this year.  Well guys, our offense might be new and young.....but with Brett Favre at the helm, an offense is never just 'average'.  GO PACKERS!

OK, back to the priorities.    Well actually, that's about all I have time for.  We have to run out to camp this morning for a staff Christmas card picture and I'd better get ready for that.  Hope everyone has a great week!
