"Once again today....God has a will for your life, Christ has a Word for your life, and the Holy Spirit has a way for your life. Nothing is impossible!" -Beth Moore

Leah's vocabulary is just exploding!! I don't remember any of our other kids being so verbal and understandable before they turned 2. She says so much and has quickly progressed from 2 word sentences to 3 words and the other night hit me with a 4 word sentence! It was "ook, mommy, I sim!" (Look mommy, I swim!) That one was while rolling around in the bathtub. She also says quite often "What oo doing, mom?" And, she can sing the first 3 lines of "Jesus Loves Me" and it's somewhat recognizable! I love how she says "Desus" (Jesus) and "Biboo" (Bible). She sometimes sings a song of her own making that just has 1 word, Biboo. "Biboo, Biboo, Biboo"....I guess she likes how it sounds! I love how she says some words and how she over-extends her mouth trying to formulate the words just properly. My favorite words are "More", which she drags out with a big, puckered mouth....like "Moooooowre". And I also like "fall" (more like "faaauw") Sometimes at night, I hear her fussing and I come in..."What's wrong, Leah". "Binky faaauw, mommy". (it falls behind her bed sometimes) Let's see, other words...."Seeyah" for cereal, "Nonny" is Johnny, "Beh-y" is what she calls betty...just leaves out the t's!
I've been taking her binky away during the day lately. I told her that binky is only for 'sleepy' now. That big girls don't need binkys all day. She doesn't like it, but it helps her talk better. Just now, I confiscated it when she was eating her cereal. She said, "Nooooo, I seep mommy, I seep!" (I sleep mommy, I sleep!) Right. Hmmm....was that a 6 word sentence?
Love it! She also is showing signs of being ready for potty training, although she is acting just like Johnny and is afraid of #2. She gets all worried when she goes, hides somewhere if she can. And will wail, "I stinky mommy, I stinky!" The good news is sometimes she will start crying that BEFORE she actually goes b/c she knows it's coming. So, I might have a better chance at getting her on. But, like Johnny....the one time I did set her on the potty when I knew she had to go "stinky"....she absolutely fell apart, she was so scared. And never did go. Exactly how Johnny was. We eventually caught him close enough to doing it that he couldn't hold it in and he was old enough to see that there was nothing scary about it. Might take some patience though.
Leah is praying now too.
She folds her hands, closes her eyes (well mostly she squints and peeks around at the rest of us), and murmurs unintelligible things in a high, soft voice. (is that what she thinks we do?) Then she gets REALLY excited, claps and bounces when someone says "Amen". So funny.
Well, I just thought it was high time I recorded some of these precious verbalizations. That's all for now!
